Barner, Bob.  Animal Baths, 32 pgs.  Chronicle Books, 2011.  $15.99.  Inside cover: “From elephants flapping in cool, misty spray to bears scratching away mud with the rough bark of a tree, animals get clean in all kinds of unique ways!  This splish-splashy introduction to the wild of animals and their bath-time habits will encourage young children to hop in the bath themselves and have some squeaky clean fun while they are at it!”  This is a brightly illustrated book about how much fun bath time can be for all animal life.  We enjoyed the illustrations and were fascinated at what we learned.  This book could be used in a unit on manners.  At the end of the book, the author adds two pages of suggestions for children to keep themselves clean.  Pre-K.  EL (K-3).  OPTIONAL.  Reviewer: SL.
