Annie Browne, 6th grader,
who moved into the town of Mount Pleasant and attends the Pearce Academy
for Girls. On the first day of school Elsie Schneider claims Annie as her “best
friend”. But Annie’s class doesn't like Elsie because she’s a tattletale, liar
and thief. Annie makes new friends and tries as hard as possible to distance
herself from Elise. Then one day Elise dies from the deadly Spanish influenza
and still claims Annie as her best friend. Can Annie get away from Elise this
time?
One for Sorrow was a book that was really hard to get into.
Its not until you get towards the middle
of the book it’s starts to get interesting and good. I would recommend this
book if you have patience for a story to
build.
