Ying, Victoria Meow! PICTURE BOOK. Harper Collins
Publishers, 2017. $15.99.
Little Kitten wants to play with her yellow ball of yarn. She is hoping that someone from her family will play along. She asks her mother, her father, and her sibling. But everyone is too busy with other activities. Little Kitten gets upset and shows her frustration by tearing the house apart. Mom and Dad sent her to timeout. After she apologizes and cleans up her mess, the family enjoys quality time together playing with Little Kitten and her yellow ball of yarn.
The illustrations tell most of this story because the only word used in this book is “Meow”. It is fun for children to tell their version of what each “meow” actually means. The illustrations are fun and detailed. Each expression is perfectly portrayed. This is a simple yet enjoyable book.
PRE-K. EL (K-3). OPTIONAL. Reviewer: SL.
