Four different conflicts involving some of
the Founding Fathers are explained in four different chapters. George
Washington vs. King George III and the Revolutionary War; Benjamin Franklin and
his son William Franklin; Alexander Hamilton vs. many different situations in
history; and John Adams vs. Thomas Jefferson.
Some conflicts are well known, such as the Revolutionary War, but the
conflict between Benjamin Franklin and his son was interesting and not well
known.
I enjoyed these simplified glimpses
into history. There are cartoon-ish illustrations
throughout that help tell the story.
Although this is a simple telling and is interesting, students will need to have a bit of background history to understand making it upper
elementary. Each chapter can stand on it's own.
