Max: Best Friend, Hero, Marine by Jennifer Shotz - ADVISABLE

Shotz Jennifer. Max: Best Friend, Hero, Marine. 256 pgs. Harper Collins. 2015. Language: G (0 swears 0 “f”). Mature Content PG-13 (teen alcohol use). Violence PG-13.

Justin loses his brother Kyle in Afghanistan. After he lost his brother he gained a new best friend: Max. Max was Kyle’s military service dog.  Max got stressed out and got sent to the shelter when his owner died. Justin suffers from losing his brother and he can no longer do his job. Justin wanted a dog and ended up adopting Max. Max is the only one that can comfort Justin through what happened to his brother.

This was a great book to read. The book was a heartwarming story and it kept me on the edge of my seat because of all the twists it had.  Plus the story was so well written that when you were reading it felt like a true story.
