While Evie’s best friend, Lark, returned with the Riders
just in time to save their village, it was not in time to save her
beloved. After nursing Lark back to
health, Evie ran away and unknowingly ran towards her destiny. The Rider Laurent is trailing Evie,
protecting her in his role as Complement.
But Evie doesn’t want to accept her destiny nor her role and may do
something disastrous because of her unheeding ways.
Book two of the Guardians of Tarnec takes some dramatic
turns as it follows the calling of the second Guardian. This classic fantasy construction deserves
much attention from readers, but it will probably need to be hand sold in order
to get the attention it deserves.
