This book features outdoor projects for children that are interested in nature. It includes how to make casts of animal tracks, how to make a womery, how to create a racing snail game, how to play hunter and prey, how to make a copy of a spiders web, and lots of tips and facts.
This book is so busy that it’s unappealing, starting from the cover and moving forward. The text is often tiny and surrounded by very busy little drawings, like random stars shapes everywhere. It has a rushed feel, like when it presents the hunter and the prey game and it doesn’t explain how that really relates to nature. Also it suggests projects like the wormery without explaining why or what observation can help a naturalist learn. I would have loved to see a more cohesive look with photographs and text boxes to help organize the information. I did really like the little cartoon characters that had funny things to say.
