Populated by only by words for sounds, this is the story of a dedicated nightlight, shaped like a bird as he tries to correct anything that is causing his little boy to lose sleep. From creaking chairs, to dripping facets, to dust that makes him sneezy, this little lamp tries its best to help the little boy get a good night’s rest. Will he meet his goal?
Very cute and bright illustrations, that are sometime confusing. Its quite easy to see in many of the scenes how he is helping, such as turning off a drippy faucet, but other scenes are kind of confusing, like when the little boy is sneezing, the bird is tapping at the stairs, which makes very little sense. While I like that it asks the reader to make use of their ears, the last thing parents want is their kids to be hyper aware of every single noise at night, so let’s not plant that idea in the first place.
