Harley, Bill Charlie Bumpers vs The Really Nice Gnome 160 pgs, Peachtree
Publishers; 2014. $13.95 Content: Language: G (0 swears); Mature Content: G Violence: G
In this book 2 of a series, Charlie is making his way through
the school year. He faces the prospect of acting as a Nice Gnome in his class
play, which he would do, and does, just about anything to get out of. Charlie
also must face his daily dreaded chore of walking his dog Ginger.
Will Charlie learn to overcome those requirements in his life
that he must do, with as good attitude?
Again, an unmarked series! This is not a read alone, I really
hate it when publishers do this! However, I really like this series, and the
artwork is so great! I feel like Charlie is a really authentic character who is
going through is day to day life, but the author creates such an interesting
read out of the mundane, that it’s an excellent read. I love how Charlie doesn’t
always to do the right thing and sometimes gets himself into unexpected predicaments.
I look forward to the next book in this series.
