Shelly’s grandfather has penguin pox and won’t get to meet the
Queen when she comes to visit. Pearl suggests that the Queen is actually coming
to take Shelly away from the illness, and move her to the palace. Shelly is
horrified! She loves her home and doesn't want to move. As the Queens visit
looms nearer, Shelly must prepare her home. How will she get the food,
decoration, and cleaning done on time. Will she ever learn how to curtsy?
Thankfully, she has her friends and the ever snobby Pearl to help out.
Not my favorite in the series, but a story that young readers
will be excited about! There is a wholesome message about being there for your
friends when they need you and honoring the memory of those who have passed away. There are many
little illustrations that add to the story. Do yourself a favor and buy this
series in hardback if you are going to add it to your library, the paperbound
copies are seeing a ton of use at my library.
