In this Splat and Seymour story, Splat must figure out how to plan a surprise party for Seymour, but there is a big problem. They are always together. Splat figures out a variety of ways to keep Seymour away so he can buy supplies, make a cake, and decorate. But Seymour is feeling like he is losing his best friend. Will Splat be able to pull it off and cheer up Seymour?
This is a very cute level 1 reader that does a good job of rhyming and introducing new vocabulary in an understandable context. The illustrations are bright and fun. Students adore splat. The author could write about almost anything and the students would ask for it.
