Dwell Studio: Puppy In Circles. Blue Apple Books, 2010. $8.99 Content, G. BOARD BOOK. This book is about circles. There is a felt finger puppet of a puppy in the middle of the book that is part of the setting on each page. The pictures are visually pleasing and the pictures of a tire, pool, tree hole, slide, and a porthole depict circles. The book is put together well, and could withstand a lot of play without the puppet ripping away from the book. After the text tells the reader where the dog is, it asks the reader “What are you doing?”, which is pointless on every page, because the reader is still reading the book. Just because the dog is changing what it is doing, doesn’t mean the reader is. PreK – OPTIONAL. Reviewer, C. Peterson, teacher.
