Kitty in Squares by Dwell Studio

Dwell Studio: Kitty in Squares.  Blue Apple Books, 2010.  $8.99 Content, G. BOARD BOOK.  This book is about squares.  There is a felt finger puppet of a kitty in the middle of the book that is part of the setting on each page.  The square pictures are visually pleasing and the pictures of trucks, tvs, boxes, and frames are realistic examples of where children will notice squares.  The book is put together well, and could withstand a lot of play without the puppet ripping away from the book.  After the text tells the reader where the cat is “I’m in a square box” it asks the reader “Where are you?”, which is pointless on every page, because where is the reader…still reading the book.  PreK – OPTIONAL.  Reviewer, C.
