Half Lost by Sally Green - OPTIONAL

Green, Sally  Half Lost (Half Bad, #3), 340 pgs.  Viking, 2016.  $18.99  Content: Language: R (25 swears; 32 “F”); Mature Content: PG-13; Violence: R.

Nathan has gained his father’s powers and is considered one of the strongest witches in the world.  As he works with the alliance to gain freedom for white and black witches, he can’t help his distraction for wanting to find Annaliese and make her pay for the way she has ruined his life.  Gabriel is still Nathan’s best friend, but even Gabriel can’t seem to pull Nathan back from his path of revenge.  Nathan will have to find out how to control all of his new powers and to tap into the white witch within himself to win this final battle.

I love this series, and I love Nathan, but it is gritty and gruesome making it hard to recommend to most young adults.  The content is mutilation and disgusting war violence, homosexual off page sex and note the amount of “F” words.  The writing is well done and the world is believable and I was sad for the trilogy to end because I have enjoyed these characters so much.

HS – OPTIONAL.  Reviewer, C. Peterson.
