Digital Safety Smarts: Preventing Cyberbullying by Mary Lindeen -ADVISABLE

Lindeen, Mary Digital Safety Smarts: Preventing Cyberbullying 40 pgs. Lerner, 2016. $20.00 NONFICTION
This book is smartly divided into four chapters: What is Cyberbullying, Why does Cyberbullying Happen, The Effects of Cyberbullying, and What you can do about Cyberbullying. A thought provoking section provides reasons why bully's may be acting the way they are. It features tons of modern stock photos of students and parents.
This book, though only 40 pages, is chocked full of information. Its almost too much information and at times feels like its doing a ton of explaining and not a lot of showing. I wish there were less stock photos and more visual examples or real life stories. My favorite chapter was What you can do. Librarians and Tech teachers would find this a helpful book to have around, especially for that last chapter, where I learned new things that are very helpful! But I can’t imagine a student picking this up on their own. Maybe also work for a classroom lesson on bullying to show this newer type of bullying.
