Addie has always
wanted to be dazzling. She starts by
being a prima ballerina and then she performed exciting tricks around
Europe. When she meets an equally
exciting man named Alexander Herrmann she starts to get involved in magic
shows. They get married and the Herrmann’s
have a troupe of magicians. When Alexander unexpectedly dies, Addie carries on
and becomes a famous female magician.
This true story account of Adelaide Herrman the Queen of Magic is
entertaining. The illustrations are
exciting and there is a lot to look at on each page spread. The story is summarized with just the right
amount of unusual details. There is also
extra information about Adelaide at the back of the book.
