Castillo, Lauren. The
Troublemaker, PICTURE BOOK. Clarion Books, 2014. $16.99. Content: G.
Someone is stealing things from the family. Everyone thinks it is the little
boy, but he insists that, this time, it wasn’t him. The little boy saves the
day when he finds the troublemaker, who turns out to be a surprise for
everyone. This was a tedious book to get through. I had an issue with the
mismatched tenses in the story (first past tense, then present, then past
again). I wanted to like it because some
of the illustrations were very distinctive, but it was somewhat anticlimactic
and the language needed to be more descriptive.
PRE-K, EL (K-3)- OPTIONAL.
