Wright, Johanna Bunnies on Ice. PICTURE BOOK. Roaring Brook Press, 2013. $16.99. Content: G.
Little bunny considers himself a Champion ice skater. Champion ice skaters have to wait for perfect skating conditions, eat big breakfasts, wear a lot of clothes, and have a lot of fans. They can spin faster than anyone else, and make a perfect figure eight, AND land perfectly every time. They must have an excellent support team and drink lots of hot chocolate. But most importantly, a champion ice skater must be willing to do it all again tomorrow!
This is an adorable book about dreaming big and having confidence in being able to achieve anything you dream of becoming. Little bunny can't land perfectly, he can't make anything that resembles a figure eight and his fans are nothing more than branches full of resting birds. But none of this is important to little bunny. He believes in his abilities and it seems that nothing will stop him. I loved this book and the message it sends to all children no matter their future dreams or desires. The illustrations were precious and stunning.
