A boy and his mother are stuck on
the east side of the Berlin wall, while the father is stuck on the west side.
After trying to survive for awhile, the boy decides it is time for them
to escape - hopefully before their father executes the same idea.
This is another of the books where I am not sure who the audience
actually is. Not elementary students - I would be surprised to find out
that they learn about the Berlin Wall at that age. It might be a short
introduction to the Wall for high school students, but not many teachers use
picture books at that level. It might be worth a try.
