Annith is one of the best trained girls at St. Mortain’s cathedral, so
she is upset when she is passed over to go on any missions. Annith finds out that the convent intends for
her to be the next Seeress, which crushes Annith’s hopes because then she would
never be able to leave the convent.
Annith finally decides that she needs to leave the convent on her own
and try to help Lord Mortain anyway she can, but what she discovers on her
journey in more than she could have ever imagined for herself.
I love loved this trilogy. It was a great ending to the series with all
three characters from the different books coming together to try and make peace in
their war-torn country. The violence is
the only hold up with a middle school audience, but overall it’s got everything
a good book needs-strong heroine, historical setting, little bit of romance and
a whole lot of adventure.
