Hopkins has assembled a collection of poems to show the reactions of
animals of all sorts to the birth of the baby Jesus. Jane Yolen, Alma
Ada, and Marilyn Nelson are just a trio of the well-known poets. Cann’s
illustrations brings them together into a cohesive whole. Useful for
either a lesson on personification or, of course, for a religious Christmas
collection.
