One day Elisapee’s father brings home a seagull chick for
her to raise. Nau, as the chick is
called, becomes a fast friend and together the two grow and thrive. One day however, not only does Nau learn to
fly, but Elisapee realizes that Nau may leave her forever.
I love the Nunavut names and the one word the author
includes. The bright, clean
illustrations add joy to the book. What
a great way to teach about letting something go with a bit of mourning, but
then moving on.
