Schroeder, Alan Washington, D.C. from A-Z, Illustrated by
John O’Brien. NONFICTION PICTURE BOOK. Holiday House, 2018. $18. 9780823436781
This book shares fun facts about America’s capital,
Washington, D.C. It takes you through every letter in the alphabet and you
learn a lot about the history of this nation. From the Air and Space museum to
the Zoo there are a lot of things to learn about this city. There are well done
illustrations along with quotes from past presidents and influential people
from history.
I thought this was a great reference book for Washington,
D.C. I learned a lot of facts and I enjoyed the funny illustrations. I also
liked the quotes to corresponded with the pages by theme or the letter on the
page. I think this book does a great job of engaging the reader and informing
them about historical events and fun facts by taking us through the alphabet.
