This is a free verse informational poetry book. Students
read a short poems, about topics such as: Metamorphosis, caterpillars, wings,
and more. Each is accompanied by a box of information on that topic and large
color photograph. Includes a story stretcher section and a glossary.
This is a unique pairing that is simple enough to read with
a kindergarten class. The images are bright, modern and large –easy to share
with a group. That being said, a poetry format is not my favorite by any
stretch and I personally wouldn’t add this to my library –as I prefer either a story
or just plain non-fiction.
