A little fox is invited by numerous other animals to join in
readying a place for a special baby who is set to arrive. Each time the
fox chooses to stay behind because he does not have anything to give or add to
the preparations. When he finally comes to the place, he does in fact bring
joy. And that is enough.
This is a simple and beautiful addition to a Christmas
library. I loved the illustrations, the childlike innocence of the fox, and
especially the message. The story might be especially appealing to younger
readers who need to be reminded that everybody can do something to help.
