The story is cute and the simple and bright illustrations are eye-catching, but what makes this board book stand out from others are the slide-out pages.  Each page pulls apart to reveal more of the picture.  Is the little mouse all alone?  No, there’s a cat asleep under the blanket (slide-out page).  The hedgehog has a friend hedgehog, the spider has a visiting bat, the little fish has a big fish, the bunny has a bear, and the teddy bear has a boy.  A great book to put toddlers to bed with.
