The Bling Queen by Allison Gutknecht - ADVISABLE

Gutknecht, Allison The Bling Queen, 191 pgs. Simon and Schuster, 2016. $7.99. Content: G.

Tess is the most fashionable of all the students at her middle school.  She knows just how to accessorize perfectly and is always up on the latest fashions.  In fact, her journal for her language arts class is a fashion journal.  But when Kayte (her former friend) turns in a similar journal herself, Tess is sure there will be trouble.  Now Tess is thinking about starting an accessory consulting business, but her best friends are mad at her - drama stuff; her cousin thinks she’s spoiled, her grandmother Mimi who lives with her is having memory issues and an important locket is missing after a consultation.  Can Tess concentrate on helping 6th graders accessorize for the dance?

Part of the Aladdin Mix series (clean reads for middle school), this one was very light. Although Mimi’s dementia is addressed, the plot is mostly fluff, quite a lot of school drama, but not much angst.
