Max, Alice, Nico, Luke, and Kat decide to try to save an old
fieldhouse. Kat is really nervous about trying to beat their school rivals in
the big soccer game. As part of the soccer event, they hold fundraisers for the
fieldhouse. But in the meantime, the fieldhouse catches fire and they decide to
try to solve the mystery.
I found this book more enjoyable than the first, since I know
the characters a bit more. It can be challenging to find good sports genre
books for younger readers, and I think there was just the right amount of
soccer and plot to this read. The illustrations are great.
