Playing a Game: Inclined Plane and Lever by Mari Schuh –ADVISABLE

Schuh, Mari  Playing a Game: Inclined Plane and Lever 24 pgs. Lerner, 2016. $15.00 NON-FICTION
This short informative book features Gus and his cousin Zach, who is older and bigger. They play a game where Gus tries to move Zach. Gus thinks of real world examples of when heavy things are easier to move and tries them out. The first presents an inclined plane and the second present a lever. Will Gus win?
This is a wonderful little book that will work perfectly for teachers in younger grades! I have a shelf of these simple machine concept books but this one does a great job catering to younger readers. I love the story aspect as it enables readers to imagine they might be in the same situation. Lots of colorful photographs.
