How to Build a Car by Saskia Lacey –OPTIONAL

Lacey, Saskia  How to Build a Car 63 pgs. Walter Foster Jr. (Quatro), 2015. $14.95 Content: Language: G (0 swears); Mature Content: G Violence: G
This is the story of the Scrap Pack, a mouse named Eli, a bird named Phoebe, and a frog named Hank. Together they decide to build a car. They dream big and get to work. They build each component step by step starting with the frame, then the engine, then the body.
This is a top notch adorable book from start to finish and is stuffed full of information about car parts told in a story format. Its quite long and detailed. At my school it is usually the younger grades that are interested in cars and trucks, making this book too challenging for them to read alone. The story might be kind of childish for a reader at the level to read this alone. I honestly see this one more as a gift to a child who is in a car phase and they read it together with their parent.
