Tyler is SO embarrassed!  He did something thoughtless at school and everybody in his whole class laughed at him!  He is so sure that the laughing will continue tomorrow, that he is determined to drop out of school completely instead of facing his classmates ever again. 

This would be a great book to read at the beginning of school for every year of elementary – not just first grade.  In fact, I am going to show this to my middle school teachers, because it is a good way to jump off a discussion about how to deal with embarrassing situations – a lesson that everyone needs at many times in their lives.
