When Little Critter wants to go fishing, his Dad, Mom and Grandpa are too busy.  But Grandma surprisingly steps up to the plate and offers to take Little Critter.  They have troubles with tangled fishing lines, little or no bait, and bad weather.  But in spite of the fact that they never do catch a fish, they have a great time.  They agree that it was the best fishing day ever!  This is a cute story of how important family time can and should be. It doesn’t matter what the activity is, just that we spend quality time together.  The illustrations are true to Mercer Mayer and the story line is simple and sweet.  We enjoyed this book.  Pre-K.  EL (K-3).  ADVISABLE.
