Haber, Shel and Jan The Animals Vacation Grosset
& Dunlap, 2015(Reprint 1964). $16.95 PICTURE BOOK
The zoo animals are thrilled, they get to go on a vacation, but
the zookeeper has a big task to make this happen. He has to give the right tags
to the right animals so they can get to their correct habitat. Finally its time
and the animals make pitstops to drop offs at each habitat, and the other
animals make comments about each one. Finally its time to go back to the zoo.
This 1960s reprint is ADORABLE! The illustrations are bright and
playful and the animals are so cute! I think this would make a great addition
to a basic lesson on animals and habitat’s, students could guess the habitat
during the story. It could then lead to an activity about putting forest tags
on forest animals, etc. Sort of sad that the animals had to go back to the zoo
though, lets focus on preservation people!
