Poison by Bridget Zinn - ADVISABLE

Zinn, Bridget Poison, 288 p. Hyperion, 2013.  $17.  Content: G.

Kyra tried to murder her best friend, the crown princess, with a poisoned dart, but now she is on the run, because, for the first time ever, her dart missed.  The best trackers in the kingdom, Kyra’s own colleagues, are on her trail, because no one will believe that there is something very wrong with princess Ariana.  Along the way to finding the real princess, Kyra acquires a small pink pig, a scruffy wanderer named Fred and his dog Langley.

A fun, kind of medieval fantasy mystery.  The cover is eye catching and aims the book at the right audience.  There is some discussion of Kyra’s underwear – because Fred catches her fording the river, trying to keep her clothes and the pig dry.

MS – ADVISABLE.
