Elliot’s father disappeared a year ago
in an attack by a level three Purple.
Since then, he has braved the dangers of Cello to rescue his father. His
mother has decided it is time to move on and sell the family business, which
angers Elliott and his friends, causing problems for the newcomers. In a strange coincidence, Elliott
discovers a whole in the fabric between his world and ours, and a letter from a
girl in our world, whose life confuses him, but at least he can share his
problems and she can share hers.
Honestly – there is no real good way to describe the plot of
this book. I defy anyone to try
without taking 2 pages or more to do it.
There are mysteries upon mysteries to go along with the two
dimensions. I didn’t find the
earth character, Madeline engaging – more like self-absorbed. However the Cello
scenes are pretty good and the new world is very rich in detail and description. It
looks like there may be a sequel, with Madeline coming to Cello, which seems
promising. I think this is for
your absolutely best readers, who might have a chance to follow the multiple
subplots.
