Blank Confessions by Pete Hautman - ADVISABLE

Hautman, Pete Blank Confessions, 170 pgs. Simon and Schuster, November 2011.

Language - PG (3 swears); Mature Content - PG; Violence - PG-13 (drugs mentioned)

New kid in town, Shayne Blank, goes to the police station to confess to a murder. It's a long story, so he be starts at the beginning. Interspersed with Shayne's confession is his friend Mikey's story of the events leading up to that particular day.

This would be a great book for reluctant readers. It's short, a very quick read, and the story is suspenseful and interesting. The reader knows from the beginning that someone is dead, so there is the added mystery of figuring out who and how it happened. I really enjoyed this book.
