As a boy wanders down the sore, he reaches for a starfish
just as a gull snatches it and flies away.
The boy chases after, following the starfish as it is tossed from gull
to gull.
Yolen well-crafted poetry and Marshall’s beautiful art
combine for a simple book about life along the shore. For children who have never been to a beach,
this would be a welcome glimpse into this habitat.
