This book celebrates the wonders of a harvest moon, not only for its brightness but also for its effect on nature.

The illustrations are a lovely complement to the poetic text. While the figurative language is pretty and gets the point across, sometimes it seems overwrought and melodramatic. It could work in a unit on poetic phrasing, I suppose, but it's a bit long and redundant for a read-aloud, and students are unlikely to check it out on their own.
