Two years ago Jamie's mentally-disturbed older sister Cate went to jail for a horrendous crime. Now she's out, and there's only one person she wants to talk to: Jamie. She's got something to tell him, and it's something he's pretty sure he's not supposed to know. Something he may not even survive finding out about.
This intriguing psychological thriller kept me reading through to the end, and I love that it is written from a boy's point of view. I do admit to being disappointed that I guessed the end early on, although the journey to the twist was enjoyable and fascinating, and perhaps readers who are simply along for the ride instead of analyzing every word will be more surprised. Because of the strong mature content and psychological component, it is recommended for older high school students as opposed to younger ones.
