Ryan, Pam Muñoz Tony Baloney: Buddy Trouble, illustrated by Edwin Fotheringham. Scholastic Press, 2014. $6.99. Content: G.
Tony and his sister can't wait to go to Books and Buddies at their school that evening, but when they have a huge, messy fight, they both end up grounded. Can they make amends, or will they be stuck at home while all their classmates are at school having fun?
Buddy Trouble is a good example of siblings learning how to work together. The illustrations are adorable, and a few made me laugh out loud. The text is a little long for a beginning chapter book, and some of the dialogue between Tony and his toys can become confusing, so inexperienced readers may need a little extra help.
