Peyton and Jace meet at a Christmas party and although Peyton lives in
Connecticut and Jace lives in Florida, they text and call each other for three
months until Jace suddenly stops calling.
They are both sad, but confused about their relationship, so when Peyton
comes back to Florida for her uncle’s wedding, they find themselves together
again. When Peyton’s plans to go back
home are canceled, Jace offers to drive her home. On their road trip they try to figure out where
their relationship went wrong.
This is
told in flashbacks and both characters tell the story as it flips back and
forth every chapter. I liked both of the
characters and they had good chemistry, but I was super annoyed when I found
out why Jace stopped calling Peyton. I
was also unimpressed with Peyton’s solution to run away from serious
problems. The lack of communication
propelled the plot, which is annoying in a romance novel and the “F” word was
over the top.
