Mouse bakes a special
cake for Bird’s birthday, but as he goes to deliver it to Bird, all of Mouse’s
friends want to trade stuff for a slice of cake. When Mouse ends up at Birds house with a
bunch of random items, Bird has an idea that they can re-trade the items for
ingredients to make another cake. All
the friends come together in the end and share cake.
The illustrations are adorable in this
picture book about sharing. It’s a bit
long for a picture book, but the reader can predict what they think will happen, so it keeps the reader interested. There is also a definite pattern that helps the reader anticipate the direction of the story.
