Jenna Strong has been in prison
for two years for killing her parents.
She has learned how to protect herself and with the help of the prison
doctor, Dr. Fisher, she breaks out of the prison. When she gets out she is given a new name,
identity, and look as well as a life partner and job. One night she runs into Dr. Fisher’s son who
is being hunted by ACID, the corrupt government agency ruling England, and in
Jenna’s attempt to get him help they find themselves trapped by a rogue group
trying to take down ACID.
This is an
action packed adventure with good twists and turns. The characters are easy to care for and the
government controlled world of 2113 is explained very well. My only complaint is that Jenna is given a
new identity twice in this story, and after the second time I was annoyed with
the repeat solution. That said it has a
great build up and satisfying ending. I
hope that there are more books and that this becomes a series. Side note: the audiobook reader, Fiona
Hardingham, is awesome and the audiobook is done so well it felt like I was
watching a movie.
