Carson, Mary Kay Park Scientists: Gila Monsters, Geysers, and Grizzly Bear in America’s Own Backyard, 72 p. NONFICTION. Houghton Mifflin, 2014. $19.
Carson takes a look at three of our national parks and the scientists who are constantly investigating, nurturing, and diligently working to keep the parks and their flora an fauna healthy. It is a panoramic look at a few of the many projects that are constantly undergoing within these breath-taking spaces. More people would become avid environmentalists if they took the time to read this book – or to read any book in the Scientists in the Field series. Gorgeous.
