Baby Elephant In the Wild Photographs by Caitlin O’Connell and Timothy Rodwell Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2014. $16.99
PICTURE BOOK Content: G.
This is a story about a baby elephant named
Liza. It explains what she looks like,
how much she weighs and what she does as a baby elephant. The book explains the family dynamics of
elephant herds and how they get water. Liza’s
survival depends on her family protecting her.
This is a nonfiction look at how a baby African elephant lives. The pictures are great and keep little reader’s
interest. The facts and information is
broad and there are about 3-4 sentences per page spread. This kept my little boys attention and they
were asking questions about what we read and the pictures.
