Prenna James immigrated to New York four years ago, but not from another country. No. She came from the future. She and the nearly one thousand others who escaped to the past know all the rules they have to follow to get along in this new world. But when Prenna learns disastrous secret, she has to break every one of her community's laws. It's not only her life that's at stake, though. It's the entire future.
This was a very intriguing look at time travel and destiny, and it definitely kept me reading. While it had a romantic element, which I enjoyed very much, it is not a romance in the traditional sense. I felt like the ending didn't have quite the emotional impact the author intended, perhaps because the consequences of Prenna's discovery weren't fully explored but were instead told to readers. Still, it was worth the read, and the story kept me thinking even after I finished the last page.
