Einstein: The Class Hamster by Janet Tashjian–ADVISABLE

Tashjian, Janet Einstein: The Class Hamster 160 pgs. Henry Holt and Co, 2013. $12.99 Content: Language: G (0 swears); Mature Content: G Violence: G.
Einstein the class hamster loves facts and information. He hates pythons. The class is going to audition for a trivia game show and Einstein is determined to help, especially since the teacher is always napping. But only one of the students can understand him, a shy outcast named Ned. Ned is willing to study, but that’s only a single student. Einstein is determined and creative, will he find a way before the python eats him?
This book would be great for a reluctant or behind 2-3 grade reader. It features large prints, lots of illustrations, and tons of pages of interesting facts. The story has heart and it not overly long. I like that its entertaining while sneaking in some education components.
