Callie is an orphan
and is caring for her seven year old brother.
Since the Spore War, all humans age 20-60 were killed, so only the young
and the old are left. Callie decides to
rent her body through an advanced technology that allows an older person to use
her body for a period of time. She is
promised that she will be paid well for her time and body, so Callie can help
her younger brother. Callie wakes in the
middle of her rental and finds that the company isn’t being honest with her and
that she is just one of many young adults that are losing themselves to this
new technology.
This is a fast paced
dystopian novel with a great main character and creative setting. There is romance and mystery with good twists
and turns throughout. It’s the first in
the series, so it does leave the reader hanging a bit. Best of all it’s clean, so it’s easy to
recommend to all young adult readers.
