Big Bad Bubble by Adam Rubin - ADVISABLE

Rubin Adam Big Bad Bubble, illustrated by Daniel Salmieri. PICTURE BOOK. Clarion Books, 2014.$17. CONTENT G.

Long ago, the monster Mogo was “attacked” by a bubble of chewing gum.  Now he is constantly lecturing the other monsters about the dangers of bubbles.  Because (did you know?), every bubble, heads into La La Land when you pop it.  So now all of the monsters are scared of bubbles.  Summers are particularly bad.  Now its up to you, the narrator, to convince the monsters to fight back against the bubbles - or that they really aren’t scary at all.

This silly book is actually a good jumping off point for talking about things that we are scared of that maybe we shouldn’t be. The pictures look like something just above a child’s drawings - just about right.
