Rafael is excited to start the school project to build a go-cart and he
follows the instructions perfectly, but when he notices his neighbor Maya is
adding wings to her go-cart, Rafael wants to work with her. Together they build an airplane out of their
go-cart kit. When the show up at the
start line, their classmates laugh at them, but when they fly across the finish
line in first place everyone cheers.
This is a great story about letting our creative juices flow and not
always following the directions. It also
shows the value of working together. The
illustrations are adorable and the message is inspiring.
